The highlight of our stay was definitely the garden with the barbecue. It was like having our own little outdoor dining oasis. We grilled up a storm and enjoyed our meals surrounded by the lush greenery. It felt like a hidden paradise where we could escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
No complaints at all.

The cottage was beautifully presented and had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The conservatory was a lovely place to relax and enjoy the afternoon sun. The living room was cozy with a log burner, perfect for chilly evenings. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. The garden was large and private. The location was ideal for walking and cycling, with helpful information provided by the hosts. The village felt like a proper rural community and was not touristy. There was a community shop next door and a friendly pub across the road.
I felt completely happy with my stay at Smithy Cottage, no reason to complain.

Wow, Smithy Cottage in Kirkmichael is just perfect for beach lovers like me! The room was cozy and comfortable, making me feel right at home. The bathroom, with a shower, was a great addition for a quick freshen up after a day at the beach. I loved every bit of it!
The only thing I didn't fancy much was that there's only one bathroom with a shower. But hey, that's just my personal preference.

The Snug as a Bug: Our stay at Smithy Cottage was nothing short of cozy. The moment we stepped foot into this charming holiday home, we were greeted with a warm and snug atmosphere that felt just like a tight bear hug. The patio was a delightful spot to sip our morning coffee, and the garden with its barbecue facilities added a touch of rustic charm to our evenings. Plus, we had the luxury of complimentary WiFi to stay connected and catch up on our favorite shows. And let's not forget the private parking that saved us from the hassle of finding a spot in this bucolic setting. a truly delightful experience!
Drive a Low Car, Go Slow: The only slight hiccup we faced during our stay was the slightly steep driveway. If you happen to have a low-riding vehicle, you might need to exercise caution while maneuvering up this incline.

Our stay at this cozy cottage was absolutely amazing! Mark and Rachel went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. They provided excellent advice on local attractions and even had maps for us to use while exploring the beautiful countryside. The cottage itself was incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed, from a comfy sofa and beds to a well-equipped kitchen. Rachel even surprised us with fresh milk, wine, and biscuits, and our dogs were spoiled with treats too! The village may have been remote, but the nearby towns were only a short drive away, and there was a convenient shop next door for any necessities. Mark and Rachel were always just a phone call away if we needed anything. Smithy Cottage truly felt like a home away from home, beautifully renovated and fully equipped for a perfect vacation. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches for the children, such as board games and playpen. The garden was a lovely place to relax, with plenty of sunshine and even a red squirrel to watch. The location was ideal for exploring different parts of Scotland, from Perthshire to Cairngorms and Fife, and we visited many charming villages. We highly recommend stocking up on essentials beforehand since the local store has limited stock. There were plenty of stunning walks right from our doorstep, and the peacefulness of the location was truly rejuvenating. The garden was also a sun trap, and we enjoyed outdoor dining in the beautiful surroundings. We can't thank Mark and Rachel enough for their warm welcome and for making our stay so incredible. We will definitely be returning for another fabulous week in Scotland!

The location was perfect for our romantic escape, with easy access to stunning villages and beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside. We were able to explore different areas like Perthshire, Cairngorms, and Fife, making our trip even more memorable. The cottage itself was comfortable and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a cozy stay. The owners were friendly and provided us with a lovely welcome package, making us feel right at home.
The steep driveway, which made it difficult for cars with low ground clearance. However, there was ample parking nearby, so it didn't pose too much of an issue.

The location of the cottage was superb, nestled in a charming village surrounded by beautiful countryside. It was a great base for walking and cycling, with helpful information from our hosts about possible routes.
The beds were quite uncomfortable, we found them to be rather hard. It affected our sleep quality and made our stay less enjoyable.
